75,000 Bonus Miles with American Airlines Citibank Credit Card

This post may contain affiliate links from our advertising partners, such as American Express. Read my Advertiser Disclosure policy here.

Dates: Must apply by February 28, 2011 for 50,000 or 75,000 bonus miles offer.

Offer: This is a similar offer to the one Citibank offered last year for American Airlines with a different spending threshold. I took advantage of this one last year and the miles were credited to my AA account immediately within the offer being met. If you already have a Citibank American Airlines credit card, cannot guarantee you will be able to open this credit card offer, but worth a try! I primarily got this card for the offer, however, the you can receive more American Airline miles on every day spend by using the Starwood American Express credit card (not a great sign up offer though). Will write about this in another post!

  1. Last year I applied for an AA City Card in order to earn the 35,000 miles round trip anywhere in the US. I purchased the required amount, and in fact, recently purchased an item over $6,000 and charged it to my card . I was planning to take my one vacation starting on July 27th. When I tried to make reservations for my flight, no seats were available UNLESS I purchased an additional 9,000 miles. This is not what I was told. I am extremely disappointed with the prgraom, and unless AA City Card makes good on their promise, I would NEVER recommend this program to anyone.

    • @Carole – If seats are available it is 25,000 miles in the continental US (round-trip), but if no award seats then 50,000 miles for the same trip. Unfortunately, this is how all the reward programs work and they are capacity controlled.
