New American Airline Direct Flights from US to Europe

This spring American Airlines (with code share partners Iberia and British Airways) is flying direct from more US and European cities. I am glad to see they have added in Eastern Europe and Scandinavia to their list of European cities. Along with the new flights comes bonus promotions for flying these routes. The list below compiles the city pairs and the bonus miles:

  • Los Angeles — Madrid (operated by Iberia). Click here to earn double AAdvantage miles between March 28th and May 31st.
  • Miami — Barcelona (operated by Iberia). Click here to earn double AAdvantage miles between March 29t and May 31st.
  • New York JFK — Budapest (operated by American). Click here to earn up to 15,000 AAdvantage bonus miles between April 5th and June 30th 
    • Business Class – 15,000 bonus points
    • Full-Fare Economy Class (fares booked in Y or B) – 10,000 bonus miles
    • Discount Economy Class – 5,000 bonus miles
  • Chicago — Helsinki (operated by American), starting May 1, 2011. Click here  to earn up to 15,000 AAdvantage bonus miles between May 1st and July 31st 
    • Business Class – 15,000 bonus point
    • Full-Fare Economy Class (fares booked in Y or B) – 10,000 bonus mile
    • Discount Economy Class – 5,000 bonus miles
  • San Diego — London Heathrow (operated by British Airways), starting June 1, 2011

American Airlines has also another promotion running giving away 20,000 AAdvantage miles for flying a transatlantic roundtrip between now and June 30th on American Airlines, British Airways, or Iberia. This is a separate promotion that you must register for using promotion code AAWND
