This summer my family and I decided to vacation in the Cape. Growing up we would typically do day trips or stay with my Grandparents who lived there, but this time we decided to spend a night in a hotel in the Yarmouth/Hyannis area. We stayed at the Blue Rock Golf Resort which is part of the Red Jackets Resort property group. It was a wonderful hotel right on the golf course and only a 5 minute drive away from the beach. The hotel was very very clean, beautiful grounds, and reminded me of a quaint New England setting. There is also a smaller pool at the hotel, a restaurant, and a well-known golf course. While I did not eat at the restaurant or play golf, the reviews for both of these facilities were excellent.

Since this hotel is part of a larger property group, we were able to park and use the facilities of the sister resorts located directly on the beach. Without this access you would need to either pay for parking at a public beach and would not have the same amenities that the beach properties have to offer. There are three properties right on the beach with huge indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs. Additionally, they have complementary chairs and umbrellas for you to use. At times I am hesitant when hotels say they offer chairs/umbrellas, but there was plenty for everyone and they were in great quality. The beach is very wide and long and one of the prettier beaches I have seen in the Cape. At the beach, you can also rent Wave Runners, go Banana Boating, go Parasailing, and partake in several other activities.

When my family went in the peak of the summer on a Saturday night, we paid about $220/night including taxes and resort fees. There was a AAA rate on their site which matched the same rate offered at hotels.com. I just checked rates for September and for a 2 night stay you can stay at this hotel for $321.70 total including taxes and resort fees. We decided to stay at the golf resort instead of the beach location as it was significantly less expensive and at the time allowed for a 1-night stay (where many of the other hotels required a 2-night minimum).

Current deal at this hotel: This week Living Social is offering this hotel at an extremely discounted rate. For $258, you can get a 2-night stay for four at the Blue Rock Golf Resort, two rounds of golf at the Blue Rock Golf Course, a $50 food and beverage credit at The Grill Room, and one 30-minute massage at The Spa at Red Jacket Beach Resort. Compared to what the normal rate would be, this is a savings of $63.70 plus you get all the extra add-ons! You must purchase this Living Social escape deal by September 13, 2011. The voucher expires on October 16, 2011 and blackout dates are October 7-10, 2011. Click here to view/purchase this deal.

I highly recommend this hotel! It provided for a wonderful vacation with the charm of Cape Cod.
