Southwest Airlines Opens Flight Schedule Through April 9, 2012

Unlike major carriers who open up their flights 330 days in advanced, Southwest opens up their flights in a staggered approach. Every three to four months, Southwest will extend their flight schedule another three to four months. Southwest just recently announced the extension of their flight schedule through April 9, 2012. For those who are still holding onto old free flight awards, booking far in advance will increase your chances on redeeming your free flights. Additionally, some of the cheapest airfare can be found when booking right after a schedule extension for that time frame.
