Hilton Q4 Free Nights or Double Points Promotion Announced!

Between October 1 and December 31, 2011, Hilton guests can register to earn one of two promotions:

  • Free night certificate after 4 stays or 10 nights. Nights do not need to be consecutive and the certificate lasts for 6 months.
  • Double points on all stays

The one catch is that you can only register for one of the promotions and cannot change your mind throughout. Actually there are two catches, MANY hotels are actually excluded from this promotion, so make sure to take a look at the exclusions list (mostly for US hotels). If you stay at one of these hotels, you will not earn the stays/nights needed to earn the certificate or the double points. I would highly suggest staying elsewhere!

This is the third time in the past two years they have run this promotion, and it is pretty much the best you can ask for with Hilton, so I am pretty pleased. While I would have preferred to see the certificate not expire for a year like last year, I still think a six month expiration is generous.

Last year I was able to take advantage of this promotion by hotel hoping . I personally enjoyed my free nights at the Waldorf Astoria Park City, Utah – right at the base of the slopes!

I agree that it is a good deal. You get free nights as well as adding points for the current stay. That’s a double dip!

[…] Hilton: Between October 1 and December 31, guests can register to earn one of two promotions. Remember, you are not able to change your selection after registration, so make sure to choice wisely! I would actually recommend holding off registering until you decide which of the two promotions will work best for you. The free night promotion is best to use if you have one night stays. Pros: Free night certificate is good for 6 months and can be redeemed at ALL Hilton hotels, there are no exclusions! You have the ability to select the promotion that works best with your upcoming travel. There is no limit to the number of certificates or points you can earn. Cons: MANY hotels are excluded from earning the promotion (make sure to check out the exclusion list). Need to stay in multiple of fours for the free night certificate to make it worth it . Glad I found this post. Way too many of the hotels I usually stay at in Texas are on the exclusions list.

The “register” link didn’t work for me, so I talked to the HHonors phone rep. She said Hilton hasn’t decided yet (today=10/10/12) on its Q4 promotion.

David – The post and registration link you are referring to is from 2011. The new promotion for 2012 coming up is 1,000 points per night starting November 1st.
