InterContinental Hotels Group Promotion – $100 off a Flight

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) is offering an early black Friday promotion (my favorite time of the year by the way)!  You must register for this promotion between November 1-28 and then complete a two night stay (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) at any IHG hotel brand in the United States by April 29, 2012.

After your stay, you must send a copy of your bill by May 31, 2012 (terms are included after you register). Your $100 flight credit award pin will be emailed within 2 weeks of submitting the form. You then must register your $100 flight credit award online within 30 days at www.activateaward.com/IHG-FFC. Additionally, the flight must be purchased within 4 months of registering for the award and must be completing within 5 months of booking.

You must book your flight through a particular travel agency, which makes me skeptical of this deal. Many times I find that having to use particular websites to book flights actually results in a higher fare thus making the promotion no longer worth it and potentially more expensive!

Because of my uncertainty of the booking agency, I would NOT stay at an IHG brand hotel specifically for this deal. However, if you already happen to be spending a two night stay here, it is worth registering and see what comes out of it. And, if the deal works out for you, then great! If not, you weren’t expecting much anyways. I have never used this specific travel booking agent, so I cannot speak if it is worth it.

There is also a lengthy page detailing the terms and conditions for more specifics.

  1. Too hard, too many restrictions. Why don’t they also tell you what date you have to use the credit, what date you have to fly on, what destination and what seat you have to pick. Let’s make it a little harder next time. I’d rather they just offer up some more points.

  2. I’m up $200.00 by ignoring this promotion. What “hired hand” came up with this idea? Please expose them and take away their cellphone 4 life.
