Starwood Rewarding Returns – Bonus Offer for Inactive Members

This post may contain affiliate links from our advertising partners, such as American Express. Read my Advertiser Disclosure policy here. Additionally, some of the offers on this page may no longer be available through Deals We Like.

Via Points Miles and Martinis, SPG has once again launched a rewarding returns promotion with the hope of getting back some guests who have not stayed at their hotels in awhile. This is a targeted promotion, but to see if you qualify, click this link and enter your SPG member number. I unfortunately got the “We’re sorry, you’re not eligible for this offer” notice, but other members have reported getting the following options:

  • 2,000 bonus Starpoints, or $25 Amazon Gift Card, or 25% off redemption certificate
  • 2,000 bonus Starpoints, or $25 Award Certificate, or 25% off redemption certificate
  • 4,000 bonus Starpoints, or $50 iTunes Gift Card, or 25% off redemption certificate
To receive the selected offer you will need to complete one qualifying stay between January 1, 2012 and February 29, 2012.
There are potentially other offers out there as well. Also, SPG typically will not allow you to change your selection so pick the offer that works best with your upcoming travel needs. The bonus points are far better than the gift card selection, and the 25% off redemption certificate could surpass both. This certificate allows you to get 25% off a one-time award redemption of up to a 5 night stay at a category 1-5 hotel.

  1. I got the 4,000 bonus Starpoints offer. Already booked a stay at a Four Points on my next layover in LA to get this reward.

  2. Does anyone know — Is a stay an actual stay?

Or would a charge with an SPG card in a restaurant at a Starwood property qualify / meet the requirements for this bonus offer ?
