Club Carlson just announced another 30% off promotion that will run between now and June 12th and then again June 22nd through September 1st. You must use promotion code 30PCTOFF. I checked out a few regions and noticed that the offer was available more between the second offered dates then the first, but that was just my own experience. This sale is not available at all locations and all dates, so keep that in mind. Also, the sale rates are not pre-paid rate, however, make sure to check the cancellation policy for the hotel you are booking at.
This might be a great time to find a cheap room to utilize the current 50,000 or 44,000 Club Carlson promotion. Unfortunately, the 30% off is not working at the New York City properties, but I was able to find an $81 AAA rate at the Country Inn & Suites in Long Island City tonight and tomorrow night. While you might be able to snag a $50 rate elsewhere, this is a great rate for us New Yorkers who have a hard time getting those cheap hotels. This hotel is just over the Queensborough Bridge and looks to be very accessible by subway. If you have more questions about this promotion you can check our my “Top 10 Club Carlson Big Night Giveaway Questions” blog post – this should answer any questions you may have!
You can make a reservation directly at the Club Carlson website (using promotion code 30PCTOFF), or go through one of the shopping portals to receive additional points/miles/cash back on your purchase. I personally am using TopCashBack.com to make my Radisson reservations as they are giving back 10% cash rebate for all reservations made through their portal. I’ve written about TopCashBack.com in a previous blog post if you want to learn more about this site. If you refer friends to this portal, for a limited time you will earn $10 for each friend once they receive $10 in cash back themselves.
To manually enter the promo code (30PCTOFF), after you search for your hotel, click the “More Search Options” link underneath the “Search Again” button. This is at the top of the page and will unhide the area where you can select a certain rate type (AAA, Senior Rate, Government Rate, etc.) along with entering a Promotional Code.
I personally will be completing two stays by the end of this weekend, one for $81.00 and one for $89.00. As mentioned before, cheap hotels in my area are harder to come by, so I am content with these prices. This will give me 94,000 bonus points (+ my regular points for just staying at the hotel) and since free nights range between 9,000 and 50,000 points per night, I am looking at at least two free nights. My goal is to utilize these points at a property in Europe that would go for at least $250+ a night, so this will be a great value for me. For many, however, the bonus points for two of the promotions (Radisson and Country Inn & Suites, let’s say) can be used 11 times at a category 1 hotel which goes for 9,000 points a night. While these hotels probably only cost about $60/night, that can still be over $600 in value! Just remember though, there is an opportunity cost there as you will not be earning points while burning points and you are bound to staying within a certain chains property.
Anyone able to find some cheap hotels?
