Club Carlson Promotion is nearing the end…

This post may contain affiliate links from our advertising partners. Read my Advertiser Disclosure policy here. Additionally, some of the offers on this page may no longer be available through Deals We Like.

This is a reminder that you have just 5 days left for the amazing Club Carlson promotion! There are currently 4 versions of the promotion, each with different bonus points and expiration dates. You can also take a look at this previous post with the top 10 questions regarding this promotion.

  • Radisson/Radisson Blu: Earn 50,000 bonus points after your first stay. Expires 7/15. Unfortunately, if you have yet to register you will only receive 15,000 bonus points.
  • Country Inn & Suites: Earn 44,000 bonus points after your first stay. Expires 7/15. Unfortunately, if you have yet to register you will only receive 15,000 bonus points.
  • Park Inn: Earn 44,000 bonus points after your first stay. Expires 7/22. There are only 10 Park Inn properties in the US, so this one is more challenging to partake in.
  • Park Plaza: Earn 50,000 bonus points after your first stay. Expires 8/28. There is only 1 Park Plaza property in the US (Bloomington, MN).

Unfortunately the first three promotions have already hit its maximum number of registrations, so if you have yet to register you will only receive 15,000 bonus points. The Park Plaza promo is new and is still available for the 50,000 points.

Mr. Deals and I took advantage of this promotion on three different occasions this time, thus earning us 147,318. Our out of pocket cost, which would not have been spent otherwise was $255.47, which is pretty decent (although I know many of you were able to score some rooms for $60 or less, which is awesome!). I could have taken advantage of more check-ins and earned more points, but I looked at it realistically and decided there was no need. I also have a combined 107,455 points earned from the same promotion last December, so in total we have at least 5 free nights. Since I am only looking to use them at Radisson Blu properties primarily, I decided that this will give us 5 nights, which is perfect. Between the two promotions, this will average to less then $90/night! The best value will probably be using them in Paris, but I’ll probably take advantage in Turkey or Iceland.

So how well did you do? Where are you looking to use your points?

I took advantage of an oversold Delta flight in Minneapolis last night and spent a night at the Park Plaza in Bloomington. Not fancy but adequate for a one night stay [free shuttle bus to the airport]. I have now completed the Radisson, Country Inn, Park Inn, and Park Plaza promo for nearly 200,000 points. Off to Europe in August where I hope to spend them.

I booked a night using the 35% off sale for this weekend…I’m assuming that rate qualifies for the bonus?

@Mike – Yes, all promotional rates qualify. The only ones that do not are Friends & Family rates typically.

I doubled checked. The park plaza promotion ends on 8/28. I was a bit shocked when I saw “8/18” because if that were the case, i’d have to rebook again… 😛

I got three, my wife two. Now with this park plaza good news it’ll be one more each; so roughly 350k in points to spend in London this October!

The email I received from Radisson said the sale was only good for stays of 2 or more nights. Was it good for one night stays?

@mark – there was a newer promotion that came out for stays starting July 20th I believe for 35% off 2+ nights.

I stayed at a radisson and country inn both in Dallas about two weeks ago and both experiences were horrible! The rooms were absolutely filthy! I was supposed to stay at a park inn the last night but canceled because I couldn’t take another dirty room. I complained and they gave me an additional 20k points. I will never stay at another radisson other than a radisson Blu again. I’m using my points for 3 nights in Prague in August. Hope I’m not disappointed.

@IntheD – Sorry you had that experience. I am personally not a fan of Radisson properties in the US, so really only plan on using my points at Radisson Blu properties.

The Park Plaza promotion is great chance to visit my beautiful hometown!

trackback

[…] three of the four Club Carlson mega-promos are coming to an end soon (see details here).  For those who registered for the fourth promotion (Park Plaza), you still have until August […]

I too am not impressed with Radisson. They don’t maintain them. Stayed at a Radisson major U.S. airport hotel which was worn, tired, old and scruffy. I like to use the points though for properties in Germany where the upkeep and cleanliness is much better.

I stayed in a Park Inn in the UK for 15K points a night, but it was a filthy dump, now with the new CC rate schedule they’re asking 28K! Unbelievable. You have to really be careful with selecting their properties. Trip Advisor is about a good source as there is.

@Conor – I think the properties in Europe are the way to go, at least from what I’ve heard.

I stayed at three Club Carlson hotels in the Dallas area. The Radisson was definitely the worst of the three, and I expected it to be the nicest! I wound up with around 150,000 points for about $220. I have already made a reservation to redeem my points for 3 nights at a Park Plaza in London in October.

My husband and I each took advantage of the first three promotions and with 6 different stays nailed nearly 300K points in addition to the last 50K promo at the end of last year AND the promo last christmas of 9K point rebates staying at 9K point hotel.

LOTS of gold points now and we’re going to spend them in Prague, Vienna and Italy a couple of years out.

Needless to say, we already have our Christmas and summer holidays for this year and next year booked and paid for.
