Coming March 9, 2013, Southwest is adding many new non-stop routes to their schedule.

  • Newark will fly non-stop to:
    • Nashville (2x/day)
    • New Orleans (1x/day)
    • Austin (1x/day)
  • New Orleans will fly non-stop to:
    • Dayton, Ohio (1x/day)
    • Key West (1x/day)
  • Branson, Missouri will fly non-stop to:
    • Dallas (1x/day)
    • Houston (1x/day)
    • Chicago (1x/day)
    • Orlando (only on Saturdays)

Since Southwest just opened up their schedule to allow you to book through April 12, 2013, you are now able to make flight reservations on these new routes. I am personally excited for the Newark to New Orleans and Austin route as this will add additional direct flights to those cities and hopefully keep costs down with other carriers. I looked up the Newark to New Orleans route and fares were $110/each way for the direct flight. $220 roundtrip is a really good fare for New York to New Orleans!

Great! Now I can fly to NYC non stop, to visit, or to connect with international flights. And only half the price of flying to LGA!

I am excited for Branson…hopefully that will mean some better rates on all carriers! #wishfulthinking
