Radisson Lexington Hotel NYC Turning Over

I just received an email that the Radisson Lexington hotel in New York City is leaving the Radisson chain and is being renamed “The Lexington Hotel.” I checked on the Radisson reservations site and it seems like the last day to stay under the Radisson name and earn Club Carlson points is Saturday September 15th.

a advertisement for a hotelWhile this hotel is nothing spectacular, it was a good opportunity to redeem Club Carlson points (earned through the 50,000 point promotions) or free night vouchers (which I purchased a few of during the Amex Daily Getaways promotion last year). I actually put my parents up at this hotel a month ago and had to charm the front desk person to get them upgraded from one double bed to one queen bed. So as I said, not the best hotel due to small rooms, but a good Club Carlson redemption option during expensive hotel times in New York City.

You can still redeem your points at the Radisson Martinique on Broadway (closer to Penn Station), but the option to redeem your points is hardly ever available. This hotel is also much more expensive than the Radisson on Lexington.

Received the same email. It was my go to Club Carlson qualifying property within the city, especially given their $89 and $99 pre-payment rates. Looks like I may be heading out to NJ for the next Club Carlson promo, the Radisson Martinique doesn’t seem to be as generous with their rates.

@adam – Same here! Those $89 rates were great for the promos. The one in queens isn’t bad either though, although not as convenient.

We tried to book at the Lexington for a trip in the fall and nobody with Raddison could help. We are staying at the Conrad instead and using our CC points for the May Fair Hotel in London next year…an upgrade all around I think.

@IPBrian – I think the Conrad in NYC will be a better choice anyways!

Stayed there last Christmas for 3 days and got upgraded to a king suite at a price just over $100/night from their own website. I was travelling alone so the upgrade wasn’t necessary but I loved it. I plan on staying there again this winter.
