5% off Hotels.com Reservations

For Hotels.com reservations booked by May 24, 2013 you can get 5% off your hotels.com reservation by using coupon code HOTELSFORLESS. This code is valid for all reservations through September 30, 2013. This coupon is valid only for new hotel bookings, but if you have a reservation booked that you are able to cancel, feel free to cancel and re-book (just make sure your original reservation isn’t passed the cancellation date and the price hasn’t increased). While any discount is great, there recently was a much better coupon code for 10% off, although it has expired.

The coupon excludes:

  • Package bookings
  • Bookings made through a group travel service
  • Bookings paid for at a hotel
  • Bookings paid for in a foreign currently
  • Bookings at non-participating hotels (you can check out excluded hotels here – mostly chain hotels)

The terms state that this offer is valid for the first 10,000 bookings, so the 5% off coupon code could always expire prior to the May 24th date. Prior to paying for your reservation, you can include the coupon code the check and ensure the 10% off is still valid.

Additionally, reservations using this coupon is NOT eligible for their Welcome Rewards program. Keep this in mind when making your reservation. The Hotels.com Welcome Rewards program gives you 1 free night after 10 paid nights. So it is up to you on what is more valuable. Last year I booked a few hotels through Hotels.com with a coupon code and still got nights towards my Welcome Rewards account, so there is always the chance they will still count.

Remember, you can also book through a cash back portals for extra savings. For example, Topcashback.com will give you 7% back, Bigcrumbs.com will give you 4.5% cash back, and Chase Ultimate Rewards will give you 4 points per dollar spent.
