An American Express Sync Opportunity with Travelocity, $50 Back with a $200 Purchase

This post may contain affiliate links from our advertising partners. Read my Advertiser Disclosure policy here. Additionally, some of the offers on this page may no longer be available through Deals We Like.

Here is another American Express Sync promotion: Receive a one-time $50 statement credit when you make a single purchase of $200+ at Travelocity.com. While this is a great way to save some money with travel spend, there is a big caveat to this promotion – this is only valid for “hotel only” options marked as GoodBuy or Top Secret hotels. Any other purchases will not qualify. You also must pay Travelocity directly – any reservation booked as part of a vacation package or if you pay the hotel directly will not trigger the statement credit. A GoodBuy hotel is essentially any property that participates in the Low Guaranteed Rate, which are most hotels on the sate – these rooms require full pre-payment at the rime of booking. This promotion expires June 31, 2013.

Currently, I only see this promotion valid with Twitter and not through any of the other Amex Sync avenues (Facebook, AmericanExpress.com). So you MUST have your American Express credit card synced with Twitter and register for this promotion. To register, you must tweet “#AmexTravelocityOffer”. You must book your hotel by July 31, 2013 to qualify. Others have confirmed they are able to see it via Facebook and their American Express “Offers” tab, but it wasn’t appearing for my accounts.

Remember, this is not a coupon, but instead an automatic statement credit you will receive. If you have multiple Amex cards, you can register all of them via different accounts – for example, three different Twitter accounts and book your hotel reservation as single night stays if they are more than $200+ a night.

You can also get 10% off “Top Secret” hotels with Travelocity by using coupon code TS10HTL. There is also a Memorial Day coupon where you can get $25 off when spending $200 (coupon code MEMORIAL25) and $50 when spending $300 (coupon code MEMORIAL50). While you can only use one coupon code per booking, the coupon can be combined with the American Express sync promotion. You just need to ensure that the final cost of your hotel is more than $200 with the coupon code applied.

FYI: I have this offer available online on 2 AX Platinum accounts (mine and someone else’s). Other AX cards (e.g. SPG, Hilton) did not have this offer.

Technically, if you have a different AX linked to Twitter, then you can make a series of 1 night stays with different AXs to maximize this deal.
