Get 90% off JetBlue Flights from NYC This Week!

As I mentioned in my post earlier today, JetBlue is running a cool promotion for New Yorkers. Once the temperature hits 90 degrees in Central Park on a given day between now and July 20 flights will be discounted by 90 percent! Chances are every day this week will see 90 degrees plus temperatures!

There are a few caveats:

  • This is once the temperature hits 90 degrees post noon
  • There will be limited codes available
  • Only select dates will be available
  • Roundtrip is required

Today, for instance, the temperature hit 90 degrees at about 12:05. While this is a great promotion in theory the technology didn’t fully support it and it took till about 12:20 for the promotion code to be announced and accepted into the system. Today’s code was HOTSEATS (which it what the promotion is being called) so I wouldn’t be surprised if that is the code for the week. The travel dates today were for leaving Wednesday and Thursday and returning next Monday and Tuesday. Of course if you were just interested in a one-way you can book a round-trip and just not take the return, assuming it is still cheap.

If you are interested in taking advantage of this promotion, I’d suggest closely monitor the JetBlue website at noon every day and already have a travel destination in mind. Prices got inflated today pretty quickly, so I suggest to not delay in making your reservation. And remember, with JetBlue you have 24 hours to cancel a reservation for a full refund. UPDATE: A reader just reminded me that the 24 hour cancellation policy only holds if your flight is booked 7 days in advance. You can read more about this promotion here, and if you are interested in booking, go to www.jetblue.com/promo to enter the promo code.

Did anyone make a reservation today, and if so, where are you going on a whim?! BTW – you can still book!

Great promotion JetBlue!!!

Federal regulations say you have 24 hours to cancel with any airline. It’s not just a JetBlue policy.

@arizonaguy – correct but with JetBlue you only have 24 hours where some others (aa, delta, united, us airways) you have until 11:59pm the following day, so more than 24 hours.

JetBlue implements a strict version of the federal regulations where you have 24 hours to cancel PROVIDED that it is a week before the date of travel. I got caught by this recently, so watch out!

Booked a long weekend in albuquerque for $119. Hadn’t planned on going there, but it was the only city I was able to find availability. Now I’m glad I booked it…going to Carlsbad Cave and White Sand Dunes, among other places. Thanks Jetblue!

Jetblue was also the only airline that gave you the 24 hours before the federal law. (Southwest still offers credit for discount fares, refunds for more expensive fares)
