Free Money with Amex Sync + Newegg.com + Rebates

This post may contain affiliate links from our advertising partners, such as American Express. Read my Advertiser Disclosure policy here. Additionally, some of the offers on this page may no longer be available through Deals We Like.

A few weeks ago I posted about some more Amex Sync deals which included Newegg.com. With this offer if you spend $150 or more, you’ll receive a $15 statement credit. The Twitter hashtag for this offer is #AmexNewegg.  You can sync your Amex card to Twitter here and learn more about syncing multiple Amex credit cards to Twitter in this prior blog post.

Currently, via Slickdeals, there are many FAR (free after rebate) items with Newegg which means if you purchase $150 worth of items, you’ll receive a rebate for all items (making your purchase free) and then still receive the $15 statement credit. American Express doesn’t know that you received a rebate – the statement credit is triggered based on your credit card statement.

So here are the current FAR items. And remember, some will sell out, so if you are interested in this, I suggest acting fast. Also, these rebates last through June 19 and are limited to 1 per customer. Make sure to read the rebate form in detail.

This will come to a total of $165 charged to your synced Amex card. You will then receive 4 different rebates, some in the form of a gift card and others in the form of the check. Some are mail in rebates while others can be done online. While I know many will say that this is a lot of work for a mere $15, I know there are many out there that will partake and not thing twice. And remember, you can do this with all your synced credit cards. However, the rebates do state 1 per customer/address, so you’ll need to use different addresses to take advantage multiple times (friends, family members, etc.). That part is too much for me to manage, but a free $15 which will take probably 5-10 minutes of your time can be worth it. You just need to make sure you receive the rebate so keeping track can be annoying!

UPDATE: Thanks to blogger Delta Points for reminding me that you can start at an online shopping portal to earn extra points, miles, cash back for your purchase. From what I see, currently the best shopping portal for Newegg.com is TopCashBack.com which is offering 3.25% cash back for new customers and 1.75% cash back for retuning customers.

This is just one example how the American Express Sync promotions can provide you with free money! Will you be taking advantage?

  2. If I buy a Newegg digital gift card, does it post to Amex with as the same Newegg merchant (and therefore qualify toward the $150)? Thanks.
