IHG just announced their new fall promotion “Into the Nights” which will run from September 4 through December 31, 2014. To register and see which promotion you’ve been offered you will need to check out this site and log in with your account information (the website has been a little finicky, so if you cannot log in try back later).
It is essentially similar to “The Big Win” promotion that was offered this past Winter. Each account has a personalized track with different requirements to meet the maximum points/miles/free nights they can earn.
Here was my personalized offer:
With my offer, I can earn up to 52,000 base points plus an additional 52,000 bonus points (or 3 free nights). This is actually significantly better then some of the other offers I’ve seen advertised as many of the free night promotions are capped at 2 free nights. However, this one is very specific and requires a stay in Norwalk, CT or Rockville, MD. Luckily, being in NYC I do not live far from Norwalk, but for those not on the east coast this would be a hard requirement to meet. I actually happen to have a weekend stay at an IHG hotel in October, so I can easily complete task #2 and #3 for a total of 42,000 bonus points. If I can find two more cheap nights at a Holiday Inn, or another cheap hotel, that will give me the last set of the 8,000 bonus points, PLUS an additional 52,000 points or 3 FREE nights! Ultimately, I can complete all three tasks with just four hotel stays that can cost me no more then $300 extra out of pocket (since I already have a stay scheduled regardless).
Are these promotions mattress run worthy?
For me, my offer is mattress run worthy. To get 52,000 points plus three free nights is worth the $300 for me as I plan on using the free nights at a high end expensive hotel. Remember though, you can always “purchase” IHG points at .7 cents per point through a roundabout method. To do this, you must make a reservation using the “Cash & Points” option (so you must have enough points for that reservation) and if you cancel the reservation you will get the “Cash” portion back in points. The “Cash” portion of your reservation is essentially buying points at .7 cents per point. So this means that buying 50,000 points will cost you $350.
So if you have a promotion that only gives you 10,000 points + 2 free nights, you can ultimately purchase these points for about $700. So make sure to do the math on how much it will cost you to get these points and if it will actually save you money.

I signed into a few of my other family members accounts and created an account for one member and I saw that a few of them were given the same offer. I did a quick search and it seems like those that create a new account will see the same offer. This is the offer:
With this offer, if you complete 3 offers you’ll get 1 free night and if you complete 5 offers you’ll get 2 free nights (or 25,000 bonus points). Ultimately, if you play your cards right, you can complete all 5 of the above tasks in just three nights. First off, completing task #1 is simple and doesn’t even require a hotel stay – it is a quick and easy 500 points. Task #3 just requires that you book 2 stays on the IHG website or the IHG App – another easy task to complete. To complete the other three tasks you can book 2 stays (1 night each) on a Saturday night at a Holiday Inn hotel and another stay anywhere you’d like during any night of the week. You can probably complete this in less then $300, which could be well worth it for many folks, just make sure to do the math.
As of right now there doesn’t seem to be any exclusions to the FREE nights so they can be used at some of the top InterContinental properties! These top properties include Bora Bora, Moorea, New York, Miami South Beach, Bali, Tokyo, Paris, London, Tel Aviv, etc. You can see the entire list of InterContinental hotels here.
Some things to know: Your rate must be a points earning rate, so reservations booked with a Friends and Family rate or on points will not count. The terms currently do not state any information on the free night certificates, but rumor on the street is they work like the free night certificate you get from having their credit card – this means they can be used at any hotel (no exclusions) within a year from when they are earned (as long as their is availability).

Anybody want to swap? I get 50K total points with 18 bonus point and breakfast rate stays, 20 nights, 3 Saturday nights, charge one night on IHG card, and survey (complete 3).
When they say book, does it have to be $ paid or can it also be reward night?
@Mohammad – For the most part, most stays need to be a qualifying stay that earn points. I suggest looking at the terms for that specific task. I do not have that task as an option so I am not 100% sure.
