Almost Free $20 Amazon Gift Card with Softcard

This post may contain affiliate links from our advertising partners. Read my Advertiser Disclosure policy here. Additionally, some of the offers on this page may no longer be available through Deals We Like.

You can get a $20 Amazon.com gift card after you add a qualifying credit card to your Softcard Account between October 1 and October 31, 2014. The one stipulation is that you must “tap” to pay with your Softcard at least once during the month of October. There is no minimum on the amount of your purchase, so go find a 50 cent item and tap away! Essentially the $20 Amazon.com gift card can cost you pennies!

Softcard

While I love this concept, the huge issue is that Softcard only works on Android phones. So iPhone users are semi out of luck. There are compatible cases you can get that will allow you to use the Softcard option (although slightly expensive), but they are not yet made for the iPhone 6.

What is Softcard? Softcard is the newly rebranded Isis Wallet which allows you to pay at certain merchants directly from your phone. This allows you to pay without the need of taking out your credit card.

Compatible credit cards: You can add the following credit cards to your Softcard account:

  • American Express: You can add your personal American Express Cards and OPEN Small Business Cards
  • American Express Serve: Money from a Serve account can come from a debit card, credit card, or U.S. bank account (I’ll write more about Serve in another blog post soon to come)
  • Chase: You can add your Chase Freedom, Chase Sapphire, Slate from Chase, and JP Morgan Palladium credit cards. You must be a primary card member for these cards.
  • Wells Fargo: You can check out eligible cards here.

How do I know if a merchant accepts Softcard as a form of payment: You can use it anywhere Visa payWave contactless payments are accepted. You can check out participating locations here.

What is the advantage of Softcard? First off, you get many promotional offers such as this Amazon.com free gift card just for signing up and making one purchase! Also, there are various money saving offers at participating merchants if you use the app. Softcard

If you do not yet have a Softcard account you can start here. Also, Softcard is giving out $10 referral bonuses (in the form of an Amazon.com gift card), so if you already have a Softcard account and want to refer other blog readers, feel free to comment below. The referee will also receive $10 in Amazon.com money too! So it is a win-win situation.

I think Softcard is great and if you sign up for AE Serve through Softcard, you will get $1 refund on every Serve transaction through Softcard. I would be willing to refer anyone looking for an extra $10. Just email me your first name and email address to dlozier(at)nsystems.cc

No other chase cards work? Is there a definitive list of usable cards?

Isn’t Serve a pre-paid card? If so, it wouldn’t work.

I did 16 cards but 6 were AU & only received $120 at first I thought it was AU issue but this is the resonse I have from softcard/twitter:

Hi! Yes, we looked into the acct and only see 6 cards. Are you pulling them and re-adding? Or maybe trying to add the same type of card?


Softcard

Meaning, trying to add 2 American Express blue cards? This might be the problem.”

I had 2 freedoms, 2 Sapphires, 3 delta, 4 spg,2 hh, & 3 platinum/green = total 16 but only 6 types & received $120.

Anyone else see them limiting to type of cards no matter how many AU or even primary – The sapphire & Freedoms were all primary (my 2 primary & my spouses 2primary)???
