Bloomingdale’s Friends and Family is ending today! You can get 20% almost all purchases online and in-store. If you plan on shopping online today at Bloomingdales, make sure to get the most points, miles, or cash back for your purchase! First off, make sure to use code FRIENDS at checkout.

Below are all of the cash back option, but the best are: Ebates (9% cash back), TopCashBack (7% cash back), American Airlines (6 miles per dollar spent).

  • TopCashBack.com: 7% (new members earn a $10 bonus for signing up)
  • Mr. Rebates: 5%
  • ShopDiscover: 5%
  • BeFrugal: 3%
  • Big Crumbs: 1.8%

  • Southwest: 2 points
  • US Airways: 2 miles
  • United: 2 miles
  • Hawaiian Airlines: 1.5 miles

Hotel Points

  • Marriott Rewards: 3 points
  • Hilton HHonors: 2 points

Flexible Points:

  • Chase Ultimate Rewards: 4 points
  • MyPoints: 2 points
  • Swagbucks: 1 point

Maximizing with the best option: So for most, the best option will be to use Ebates and get 9% cash back! This is a great portal payout and was updated today from only 3% cash back. So let’s say you buy a $100 item, you’ll get 20% off using the coupon brining your cost down to $80. You will then get $7.20 back from Ebates. This means your total cost will be $72.80. So by quickly starting at Ebates to then shop at Bloomingdales, you’ll save about 28%!!!Ebates

And if you want to go the extra step you can try to purchase a discounted gift card at Bloomingdales first. You just need to make sure to get the gift card code immediately and not have to wait for it in the mail as the Friends & Family sale does end today. Currently, you can get 10% off an electronic gift card at Cardpool, but those can sell out quickly. And remember, go through a cash back portal for purchasing your gift card – so it is double savings! You can check out this prior post on how I saved more than 40% at Bloomingdales during a previous Friends & Family sale – this included 1) Purchasing a discounted gift cards through a cash back site; 2) Using a points earning credit card to purchase the gift card; 3) Shopping online and going through an online shopping portal; 4) Using the Friends & Family 20% off code. If you check out the steps in this previous post, just note that it is from 2012 so the actual numbers will not be the exact same as today, but the steps are exactly the same!

Also, remember during Q4 you can get 5x points this quarter at department stores (which includes Bloomingdales) with your Chase Freedom credit card (related blog post).
