Uber just joined the Amex Sync party and between now and December 31, 2014, you can get a $10 statement credit after spending $10 or more on an Uber. So if you take a $10 Uber, your ride is free! Fortunately, this one is available via Twitter so everyone is eligible and you can sync as many American Express credit cards that you have.
To enroll in this offer:
- Sync your American Express credit card to Twitter (you can do that here). If you are not sure which card is currently synced with your account, you can unsync and then re-sync. Tweet #AmexUber
I did not see this promotion in my AmericanExpress.com account, so currently the only way to enroll is via Twitter. It could pop up at a future time though. Enrollment is probably limited, so I suggest syncing your card ASAP. This will be a popular one!
And remember, this only works when you are using a service that allows you to pay with a credit card through Uber. So, UberT in New York City, for example, will not trigger the statement credit.
Purchasing gift cards: For those wondering, purchasing a $25 Uber gift card will trigger the statement credit! You can purchase gift cards here.
Combining with the Uber new user promotion: Also, this can sorta be combined with the Uber new user promotion. When signing up for an Uber account through a referral link you will get 1 free ride up to $30. If you use your free credits on a ride less then $30, you will not receive the remaining amount back to use at a future time. But, if you use your free credits on a ride that is more then $30, the excess amount will hit your credit card on file. If the balance is more then $10 or more and you have an Amex card synced that is registered for this promotion, it will trigger the statement credit. The $30 referral credit is only valid for those who sign up in the US and the credit will only work for rides in the US as well. You can learn more about this promotion here.

Thanks to reader Joey for letting me know about this promotion! This is one I will definitely be taking advantage of… and multiple times!
