A few days ago, American Express partnered with Gogo WiFi to offer those with the American Express Business Platinum credit card complimentary internet while flying. The Gogo Preferred Program will be a new card member benefit starting early 2015. The exact date is still TBD. With this program, you will receive 10 complimentary GoGo inflight internet passes every calendar year. This is available for domestic and international flights where Gogo is available.
This is a great addition to the credit card and could potentially save you up to $160 over the course of the year. For those that use Gogo often enough and pay for it every individual time out of pocket, this can really help offset the current $450 annual fee of the card. I personally will not get enough benefit out of the card to force me to keep my current Amex Business Platinum card as I am usually flying Southwest and they have a different inflight Wifi program that is not part of Gogo. A few months ago I wrote about how I am getting rid of my Amex Business Platinum card and instead switching over to the Amex EveryDay card. For me personally, the cost of the Platinum card is still not worth it, but this could potentially be a game changer for some.
