Top 8 Amex Offers You MUST Take Advantage Of

As I mentioned this morning there are many American Express Offers expiring tomorrow December 31, 2014. Since there were potentially way too many offers to sift through, I want to points out the top offers that everyone should be taking advantage of.

All of these offers are ending tomorrow as well. I’ve included as much information as possible on these top 8 Amex Offers.

#1. Walmart.com: If you shop online at Walmart you can spend $15 and get a $5 statement credit. This offer is available via Twitter by tweeting #AmexWalmart. This allows you to take advantage of the offer multiple times. If you have no shopping needs now or prefer to shop in-store, you can purchase a $15 Walmart gift card online and then use it in-store at a future date. #2. Marriott: Spend $200 or more at Marriott Hotels and Resorts and get a $50 statement credit. This offer is only valid at Marriott hotels and Marriott resorts and not at other hotels within the Marriott chain, i.e., Courtyard, Renaissance, etc. Your total bill must be $200 or more which can include tax and any incidentals you charge to the room. This can include food, activities, etc. Also, many Marriott sell Marriott gift cards so you can purchase a $200 gift card to trigger the statement credit then use at any Marriott hotel (including Courtyard, Renaissance, etc.). #3. Best Buy: Spend $250 or more and you’ll get a $25 statement credit. You can purchase a $250 Best Buy gift card to use at a future time or another merchants gift card. For example, Best Buy sells iTune gift cards and some stores sell Visa and Kindle gift cards. Kindle gift cards can then be used at Amazon.com. While this offer is available via Twitter (using #AmexBestBuy), it has reached its maximum capacity so you will need to see if you can register through your AmericanExpress.com account. #4. Office Depot and Office Max: If you spend $50 or more at either Office Depot or Office Max, you’ll get a $10 statement credit. This is a great opportunity to purchase a gift card for another merchant or a Visa gift card to actually make money off of the deal. This is valid for a purchase at Office Depot or Office Max. Travel specific gift cards you can purchase include: Shell, Exxon/Mobile, Disney, and Southwest gift cards gift cards. You can also purchase Babies R Us, Toys R Us, and Sears gift cards where you can then go to the respective store and purchase a Southwest or Shell gift card with your store gift card. #5. Amazon.com: Unfortunately this is an extremely targeted offer, but if you are eligible you can get free items at Amazon! Spend $15 and you’ll get a $15 statement credit. If you were targeted, you can go ahead and purchase a $15 eGift Card to trigger the statement credit. You can then input the gift card code immediately to your account so it is stored for a future purchase. You will need to check your AmericanExpress.com account to see if you were targeted. #6. Toys R Us or Babies R Us In-store: At either Toys R Us or Babies R Us, you can spend $25 and get a $5 statement credit. Both stores sell many gift cards for other merchants so you can purchase a $25 gift card in-store to trigger the statement credit. For example, you can purchase gift cards for iTunes, Subway, Burger King, Olive Garden, Ruby Tuesdays, Chili’s, TGI Fridays, Pizza Hut, UNOs, Outback, Dunkin’ Donuts, Cracker Barrel, AMC, Ticketmaster, Regal Movies, Xbox, Shell, Sears, Home Depot, Lowes, etc. While this offer is available via Twitter (using #AmexToysRUs), it has reached its maximum capacity so you will need to see if you can register through your AmericanExpress.com account. You can read more about this offer here.

#7. Toys R Us or Babies R Us Online: Online at either Toys R Us or Babies R Us you can spend $75 and get a $15 statement credit. The best way to maximize this offer is to purchase a $75 gift card online which you can then use in-store. Both stores allow to you purchase another merchants gift card with a gift card which means you can purchase one of gift cards mentioned above, for example, Shell, Lowes, Sears, etc. You will need to register for this offer in your AmericanExpress.com account

#8. Newegg.com: At Newegg.com you can spend $200 and get a $25 statement credit. This offer is available via Twitter by tweeting #AmexNewegg. If there is nothing enticing for you to purchase at this online store, you can still take advantage by purchasing a  gift card to another store! Newegg sells many gift cards, including many travel related ones! Travel gift cards include:American Airlines, Hyatt, Carnival Cruise, Royal Caribbean, BedandBreakfast.com, Celebrity Cruises, and Westgate Resorts.   1. I went to Office Depot today to try to purchase some visa gift cards. They had “up to $500” ones and $50s so I wanted the $500 one and was told “cash only” for the variable visa ones. So I got a kindle/amazon one instead.
