Sam’s Club is offering a nice promotion for those looking to purchase a year long membership. While similar offers comes around quite often, it is typically through a third-party or in one of those Value Pack deals. This time around, you can purchase it directly from Sam’s Club, which means it is publicly available to everyone and you don’t have to register for one of those deal-a-day sites.

The Offer

With this promotion, if you purchase a Sam’s Club membership (which costs $45), you’ll also receive:

  • $20 Sam’s Club gift card
  • Vouchers for the following: Rotisserie Chicken ($4.98 value), Dinner Rolls ($5.98), and Apple Pie ($8.98)

Ultimately, with this membership, you are getting $40 worth of value, so IF you were going to use the vouchers anyways, you can think of the year long membership costing $5. I personally am already a Sam’s Club member due to a free membership opportunity from Amex Offers that came out last summer, and it came in really handy this past winter when another Amex Offer surfaced where you could get up to $250 back.

I personally love wholesale membership clubs as they sell many merchant gift cards at a discount. For example, here are some discounted gift cards that you can always find at Sam’s Club:

  • Disney: Sam’s Club sells $500 Disney gift cards for $474.98 and $150 Disney gift cards for $142.98. These Disney gift cards can be used on Disney tickets, Disney cruises, and anything else at a Disney park!
  • Southwest Airlines: Sam’s Club sells $150 Southwest gift cards for $142.98.
  • California Pizza Kitchen, Coldstone Creamery, Regal Cinemas, and so many more! Sam’s Club sells a ton of these gift cards at about 20% off. A $50 gift card costs $39.98. There is no limit to the number of gift cards you can buy!

Remember, this is for your regular Sam’s Savings membership. This means you do not get early shopping hours that you can get with the business version of the membership. There is also a “Sam’s Plus” version of the card and while that gets you significantly more (such as $10 for every $500 spent up to $500 back annually), prescription drug savings, etc.) it is a significantly more expensive membership at $100 a year.
