I am personally excited for this promotion as I have an upcoming stay at the Country Inn & Suites San Jose that originally only required 9,000 points for the night. Now with this promotion, I can stay for free for just 6,750 points. This hotel currently costs only $80 for the night, but using my points is still giving me over a 1 cent per point value which is pretty decent for Club Carlson points. Also, many people have been getting the 30,000 bonus points for the loss of the Club Carlson free night benefit even when redeeming points! So on top of the free night I’ll ultimately be ahead 23,250 points!

Do you know if they’ll apply this discount to a 2 night award (second night free) booked before June 1?
e.g., I booked a hotel in Peru for 2 nights, for 38,000 points.
@kathy – I only had a one night stay, so I am not sure based on personal experience. However, I highly doubt it. Also, on June 1st when you could overlap the two promos, you couldn’t apply the discounted night with the 2nd night free. Never hurts to call and ask though!
I’ll make a call anyway, but I agree with your analysis.
