Remember to Get Your Free $10 with Amex “Shop Small” Promo

As we all know, American Express got rid of Small Business Saturday as we know it. In the past they used to give out statement credits by shopping at a small business on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It was one of the best “Amex Offers” days of the year. Unfortunately though, American Express decided to discontinue this offer this year.

However, earlier this month, they decided to target specific American Express cardholders and offer a “Shop Small in November” Amex Offer. This offer gives a $10 statement credit on a $10 purchase. Each registered card is eligible for a 1 time statement credit. This means $10 in FREE money! You’ll need to check your AmericanExpress.com account to see if you are eligible. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reasoning on their targeted system. For example, I received the offer 2 out of 5 cards, my husband 3 out of 3, and my mom 0 out of 3.

This is a reminder that this offer expires THIS SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 28, 2015. For those that do see this offer in their account, you can think of this as $10 in FREE money! You just need to spend $10 at a store on this Amex Shop Small map. From what I see, almost all non-chain stores in my local area are listed, this includes salons, restaurants, bakeries, liquor stores, boutique clothing stores, etc.

To enroll in this offer:

  • Sign into your AmericanExpress.com account and go to the “Amex Offers For You” tab. Find the “Shop Small in November” offer
  • This is a limited enrollment offer, so make sure to enroll now!

BEFORE YOU SAVE YOUR OFFER DO THIS: If this offer is available on more then one of your American Express credit cards, you’ll want to make sure to open multiple browsers before saving the offer to your card. Once you save the offer it will disappear on other cards unless you have those card accounts open on your computer. Read this post first to learn how to save an offer on multiple American Express credit cards.

Where you targeted for this offer? And if so, where will you be shopping?

Comments

  1. $10 credit never appeared after the offer was added and the purchase was specifically made at a merchant on the Small Business map. Calling AMEX 3 times was like a trip around the world: never got a US rep even after requesting one. And none of the overseas reps had any understanding of this offer. Gosh, I didn’t think things would deteriorate this quickly after announcement of the COSTCO divorce.

  2. spend a TREMENDOUS amount of money a year on various amex cards, a cardholder for over 30 years
No invite to participate in small business Sat. Terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. where can i find a list of online business to make a SBS purchase? There doesnt seem to be an option on the SBS web page to search for anything other than physical stores
