This is just a quick reminder that you only have a few days left to request your Hilton HHonors status match. As I wrote about back in November, Hilton is matching those that have status with another hotel chain – both to Hilton Gold and Hilton Diamond. You have until January 11, 2016 to request this match.
To request the match, you no longer email Hilton, but instead fill out this online form and include the requested information to validate your status. Hilton has been pretty quick to match status, so you should receive an email confirmation of your new status within a few days of submitting your info. If you are eligible, the status will be valid through March 31, 2017.
I personally was able to receive Hilton Diamond by matching to my Hyatt Diamond, Marriott Platinum, and IHG Spire status. My parents, however, were able to receive Hilton Diamond simply by having IHG Platinum status. And the only reason they have this is due to having the IHG credit card!

Any idea whether someone could sign up for the IHG card today and have status in time to match? As in, do you know how long it normally takes for Chase and IHG to bump up your account to platinum (assuming instant approval)? I was able to match from my existing Spire, but I have a friend who could really use some Hilton Diamond lovin’.
@pointster – i am not sure how quickly it takes for your account to be updated with ihg platinum status.
How about Hyatt status match? can I still request and be granted? I already have Hilton Gold and plan to use it for Hyatt status match if still available.
Last I talked to them they’re only matching Starwood Platinum to Hyatt Diamond. Anything else matches to Hyatt Platinum, which you can get from their Chase card. (And I was pretty persistent about it, trying Carlson Gold, IHG Spire, and Hilton Diamond…)
@pointster – That is correct. Only for the first few days/week were they matching to any status.
thanks so much for the reminder! i didn’t realize that the IHG platinum status that comes automatically with having the IHG account also was eligible for this. I did mine and my husband’s status match, now waiting to hear back from them.

Can you let me know what are requirements to maintain Hilton Gold or Diamond? If I only have Carlson gold, what do you think Hilton will offer me? I don’t want to apply and won’t be able to maintain the status once the offer is expired.
@They will probably match you to Hilton Gold if you have Club Carlson Gold. You will still receive the status until March 2017 even if you are not able to maintain the status.
