Earn Even More SPG Points with a Trans-Continental Delta Flight

A few years ago Starwood and Delta teamed up where you could earn SPG points while flying Delta and Delta miles while staying at Starwood hotels. The major downside was that (and still is) is that only those with status would be able to earn those extra points and miles. You can learn more about the benefits in this prior blog post.

Well, for those that have SPG Gold or Platinum status and are registered for earning crossover rewards, if you take a trans-continental flight on Delta, you’ll earn even more points. On your first roundtrip, you’ll earn 500 bonus SPG points. On your second roundtrip, you’ll earn 1,000 bonus SPG points. On your third roundtrip, you’ll earn an 1,500 bonus SPG points. That means you can earn up to 3,000 bonus points in total. These are for flights that originate in JFK and have a final destination of either LAX or SFO.

The terms state that this is valid for new reservations only and it must be a non-stop flight. It also states that the offer is available for the intended recipient and may not be transferred. So I am not sure if this is a targeted offer or not. I do not see anywhere to register for the offer, but you must register for crossover rewards in general.

Unfortunately there are a good amount of restrictions to this offer, but if you qualify and fly Delta across the country often, you might as well earn your bonus points.
