Stay at an Airbnb in Cuba for Free, Maybe!

Airbnb is launching a promotion for those looking to rent a room/apartment/house in Cuba. The first 100 customers that book a stay through Airbnb will receive their reservation for free (up to $500). The major caveat is that this is for stays booked and completed in the month of April, so you only have another 3 weeks or so.

Unfortunately though, you will not know if you are within the first 100 guests until a few days after you book. The terms state that “guests will be notified via email of their gifted stay within 3-5 business days of their booking date.” Essentially, you will need to be the reservation amount, and will then be refunded later. If you are not eligible, you will still be on the hook for your reservation based on the terms of that particular rental (keep in mind some Airbnb reservations have strict cancellation policies, while others do not). My PR contact did tell me that she would let me know when they hit the 100 person threshold, so you should be good for now.

Additionally, this promotion is also only valid to those who have never stayed at an Airbnb in Cuba previously. It is for first-timers only. Also, it is only valid for groups of five travelers or less. You can read all the terms and conditions here.
