IHG just announced a new offer called their “Share Forever” promotion. With this promotion, you have the potential to earn at least 65,000 points plus a free night depending on your targeted offer. This promotion runs May 1 through September 5, 2016.

You’ll need to sign into your IHG account and register for the offer to see what your night requirements are to earn the maximum number of points. My specific offer allows me to earn a maximum of 72,4000 points if I complete 24 nights. This requires a night to be completed in May, or else I’ll only earn 1,000 points for the first requirement, not 8,000 points that is listed below. Additionally, I am able to share 1,000 points and a free night with a friend (or I can give them to myself). So in total, I am eligible to earn 73,400 points plus a free night that can be used at any IHG hotel.

Also, if you happen to be an Spire Elite member, you’ll earn 1,000 points just for registering, regardless if you complete any stays! I actually have this top tier status and see that the 1,000 points have already been credited to my total eligible points earned.

Overall, this is a great promotion for those that stay at IHG hotels often, but the normal traveler probably won’t benefit much. This isn’t really mattress run worthy in my opinion as it takes a ton of nights to earn a decent number of points and at least 15 nights for the free night. The free night can actually have a lot of value, but your stay has to be completed by February 28, 2017.
