Amex Offers just came out with a few new offers were you will receive 500 Membership Reward points by making a $10+ purchase at the following merchants by December 31, 2016:
You can earn the 500 points PER merchant PER $10 transaction. With each offer you can earn the bonus points 3 times, giving you a total of 1,500 Membership Reward points per merchant or 6,000 Membership Reward points in total. If you typically dine at these merchants this is a quick and easy way to earn more points. Only those with a Membership Reward earning American Express credit card will see these offers, i.e., Amex EveryDay, Amex Platinum, Business Premier Rewards Gold, etc. You will not see these offers on co-branded cards such as Amex SPG, Amex Hilton, Amex Delta, etc.
For the Dunkin Donuts offer, adding a $10 gift card to your account on dunkindonuts.com or via the DD Mobile app will also trigger the bonus points. The Panera Bread offer also works for purchases made online. For the other two, you must make the purchase in-restaurant. However, if Papa John’s and Burger King sells gift cards in-store, you can also make this purchase and it will trigger the statement credit. This will then allow you to use the gift card at a future time.
I personally value 500 bonus Membership Reward points at approximately $8, so a $10 purchase to $8 points returned isn’t so bad! Some might have a lower value while those that like to use their points on business and first class seats will put a MUCH higher value on these points.
Overall, a good offer for those that eat at these three restaurants and have an eligible card. Remember though, you MUST register your card prior to making the transaction. You can do this by going to your AmericanExpress.com account. Click on your “Available” Amex Offers and Benefits and then “Add to card” for the respective offer. If you have many eligible American Express cards, make sure to use the multiple browser trick to save your offer on every single card.
