These 2 Amex Cards Ending Do NOT Count Towards Chase’s “5/24”

I know many people are hesitant to apply for new cards due to Chase’s “5/24” rule. With this rule, Chase will not approve you for a new credit card if you’ve been approved for 5 or more credit cards within the past 24 months. Since Chase recently came out with some awesome new cards and has stated that a few more cards are to surface at some point as well, folks want to make sure to put themselves in a good position to be approved for these cards and not to be denied due to the “5/24” rule.

Well, I have good news for you! American Express business credit cards do NOT currently count against Chase’s “5/24” rule. This means that when you go to apply for a new Chase card and Chase counts up the number of approvals you’ve received in the past 24 months, they will NOT include American Express business cards, American Express personal cards will count. In reality, Chase isn’t actually manually counting your card approvals, but pulling it from your credit report. These business cards do not show up on your credit report. As of right now, the only banks where business credit card approvals do show up on your credit report include: Barclay’s and Capital One. You are still in the clear with the rest for now! That means if you want to go ahead and apply for the The Business Platinum Card® from American Express OPEN or SimplyCash Plus® Business Credit Card from American Express you can do so without worrying that those cards will count towards your total.
