The Platinum Card® from American ExpressJetBlue just came out with their highest ever offer for the The JetBlue Plus Card. This limited time offer will give you 60,000 JetBlue points after you spend $1,000 on the card – offer valid through December 31, 2017. Typically, this offer is at a pretty steady 30,000 points, although there was an increased offer to 40,000 points recently. So this really is an amazing offer! With that being said, I received this offer via email and I do still see active 30,000 and 40,000 points so I am not 100% sure if this is a targeted offer or not. I do not think so though and believe everyone is eligible as I do not see anything in the terms referring to it being targeted. Although the offer is only available to “first-time cardmembers with new accounts only”. Just make sure to apply through the 60,000 point offer and not anything less. That means do not apply through any of the blogs that are writing about a 30,000 point offer as that is the affiliate offer and the increased 60,000 point offer is not!

There are three different JetBlue credit cards, two personal and one business. This is the “Plus” version of the personal cards which means there is a $99 annual fee. The other personal version comes with no annual fee, but also only offers 10,000 points. If you are eligible for this offer, it is definitely worthwhile to pay the annual fee (at least the first year) to get the increased miles.

The Plus offer gives you 6x points on all JetBlue purchases, 2x points at restaurants and office supply stores, and 1x point on all other purchases. You’ll also receive 5,000 bonus points on every account anniversary, which is worth about $75. By having the card you’ll receive 1 free checked bag, plus a free checked bag for up to to 3 companions on same reservation (you just need to use your JetBlue credit card to pay for the flight). And if you are a big spender you can earn Mosaic status by spending $50,000 on the card in the same calendar year.

While the above perks are decent, my favorite benefit of the card is that you’ll receive 10% back in points when you redeem for a flight. Depending on how many points you redeem over the year, the value in points you receive back can definitely make paying the annual fee worthwhile compared to the no annual fee version of the card.

I actually do not have this card and will be applying ASAP! I am very excited for this card offer, what about you?

  1. How difficult is the card to get? I.e. would a high credit score be required to get it? 60k points is definitely one hell of an offer!

  2. I just applied about 2 months ago and receive offer via email. Will Barclays retro bonus? Is it better to email or call rep. Thanks

  3. please help…i am not sure, but this may be a scam..i called Barclay and Jet Blue and neither knew of an offer of 60,000. unfortunately i filled out the form and when i hit “apply”, it said the website was down and would i try later…i backed to the original form, but it was now cleared. Do you know if this is a true offer…i am so scared because they asked for a social security number. all i can do now is apply for a security lock or scan if this was indeed a scam. i would appreciate any knowledge you may have of this situation as soon as possible. thank you

    • @Karen – Yes, this is a legit offer. JetBlue definitely wouldn’t know anything about the offer – so that is not surprising. Barclaycard it would depend on the agent you spoke to whether or not they know about it. There are actually 3 different offers right now for the same exact card. They probably only know of the 30,000 point offer which is what they would tell you about if you were to apply for the card. No scam, so no need to worry!
