Hyatt just announced a new promotion where you’ll earn double points on all eligible stays! It has been awhile since we’ve seen a Hyatt offer, so I am happy that there is finally one on the table, although it is a short timeframe. This promotion will run November 15 through December 31, 2017 and you must register by November 30, 2017. You can register here.
With this promotion instead you’ll earn 10 points per dollar spent (typically you earn 5 points per dollar spent). That means a $500 stay will earn you 5,000 points which is pretty nice. Keep in mind that the bonus points earned from having status will not be doubled. If you have Discoverist status that gives you a 10% bonus, so you’ll earn 11 points per dollar spent. If you have Explorist status that gives you a 20% bonus, so you’ll earn 12 points per dollar spent. If you have Globalist status that gives you a 30% bonus, so you’ll earn 13 points per dollar spent.
Overall, a decent promotion!

The problem with this promo is that you have to book using the DBL Points room rate. Not the “normal” rate.
In my case, to get the DBL points my rate would be an additional $34 a night. That equates to extra points costing .03 a point. No thanks.
@patrick – You do not need to book any special rate. Any paid rate (as long as it is not a friends and family or some other random paid rates) will qualify. Some hotels might have specific promos for double points at their hotel with a certain paid rate.

This Double Points offer is a promotion valid for a limited time awarding double points when you register for the promotion and complete an Eligible Stay, during the promotion period of November 15, 2017 through December 31, 2017. Only Base Points are doubled under this offer. Additional Bonus Points obtained under the Double Your Points rate are not doubled under this offer.
