Hyatt hotel recently took over a pre-existing hotel (Alila Hotel) in the Maldives. I have read many reviews of the Alila Hotel, and have gathered that it is an unbelievable hotel, on a very secluded island, and better than the W Maldives. The Park Hyatt Maldives is a category 6 hotel, which means 22,000 points to redeem a free night. I looked up some rates over the next few months and see starting rates fluctuating from $700/night – $1100/night). Redeeming Hyatt points here is a great value! You can also use American Express Membership Reward and Citibank Thank you Reward points to purchase Category 6 reward vouchers (also a great value!).

Although I have never been to the Maldives, I did look into it for my honeymoon last year. I can give you some thoughts on reviews I’ve heard. If you want relaxation this is the place for you. If you want tons of activities and to be on the go, this is probably the wrong destination spot. It is a one of the most beautiful, remote, intimate places in the world, however, very expensive activities, food, and lodging. Additionally, getting to the Maldives can be somewhat difficult

I am very excited to see Hyatt to continue to expand their international presence!
