30% Rebate on Amex Transfers to Delta Miles

American Express/Delta just released another bonus opportunity when transferring your Membership Reward points to Delta miles. For every 50,000 points you transfer over, you will receive a 30% rebate back in the form of a certificate in 6-8 weeks – a 30% rebate on 50,000 points will get you an additional 15,000 membership reward points.

While there have been many 50%+ bonus offers this year for transferring from Amex to Delta, this one is not as lucrative at essentially a 43% bonus. Where did I get 43% from? Well many of the other travel bloggers already did the math for me! But also, it is really as if ultimately 35,000 Amex points = 50,000 Delta miles (43% bonus)!

The only downside to this promotion is that if you are looking to spend the miles immediately you will need to transfer the full amount over as you will not get the bonus points immediately, unlink some other promotions they have run. If you have no need for Delta miles at this moment, I would hold off transferring as you do not want to be stuck with miles in one program where you would have actually preferred to use them elsewhere. And since Delta runs these type of promotions quite often, I am sure there will be another opportunity!

You must register for this promotion PRIOR to transferring your points. This promotion runs through December 31, 2011.

Thanks One Mile at a Time!
