Double Points on Select Southwest Routes (California, Denver, Atlanta)

Currently, Southwest is running a promotion offering double points and double Tier Qualifying points on routes starting or ending in the following destinations: All California destinations (Oakland, San Francisco, Sacramento, San Jose, Burbank, Los Angeles, Ontario, Orange County, San Diego), Denver, and Atlanta

You must register for the promotion and in unfortunate Southwest fashion, must book your flight AFTER registration. If you have already booked your flight and the rate has not changed, you can cancel and re-book your flight for no fee. Both promotions run through March 31, 2012.

  1. Keep in mind that you must actually cancel and get a new confirmation number. I found out the hard way that it is not enough to change the reservation choosing any fare. The locator stores the original reservation date.

Also, for this promotion you can’t cancel and rebook using Southwest Wireless on your cell phone. That site doesn’t allow rebooking using original reservation’s ticketless funds as a form of payment.
