UPDATE: Club Carlson’s Facebook page confirmed that reservations make prior to May 15th WILL count for the promotion. Feel free to book now with this 25% off promotion at select hotels!

Club Carlson is running a three day promotion where you can get 25% off the best available rate for stays through May 31, 2012. While Club Carlson has sales pretty often, this one comes in timely for anyone looking to take advantage of the Big Night Getaway promotion that starts May 15th (read more about the promotion here). I searched the Club Carlson website to check on various rates and unfortunately not all of the hotels are participating in this sale. You can book a reservation here using promotion code LMD25OFF. This sale runs through 11:59pm CST May 11.

As of right now I haven’t been able to find a great rate close to me, but I did find the following that you might be able to take advantage of:

  • Country Inn By Carlson, Millville, NJ – $59.25
  • Country Inn & Suites by Carlson, Miami (Kendall), FL – $89.25
  • Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, DFW Airport South, TX – $63.00
  • Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, St. Augustine Downtown Historic District, FL – $59.25
  • Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Rock Hill, SC – $57.00
  • Country Inn & Suites by Carlson, Brockton, (Boston), MA – $72.59
  • Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Schaumburg, IL – $66.75
  • Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Calabasas, CA – $74.25
  • Park Inn by Radisson, Houston North, TX – $66.75
  • Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, McDonough, GA – $56.25
  • Country Inn & Suites by Carlson, Atlanta Six Flags, GA – $60.75
This is not a pre-paid rate, however, make sure to check the cancellation policy for the hotel you are booking at. Since the exact terms of the promotion will not be fully available until May 15th, this will allow you to book now and cancel if needed.
While it is still speculation, it looks like there will be three versions of the Big Night Getaway promotion:
  • Radisson “Big Night Getaway“: Earn 50,000 bonus points after a stay at a Radisson or Radisson Blu hotel
  • Country Inn & Suites “Stay 1 Get 1 So Go Promotion”: Earn 44,000 bonus points after a stay at a Country Inn & Suites by Carlson hotel
  • Park Inn Promotion: Earn 44,000 bonus points after a stay at a Park Inn by Radisson hotel (there is no live link for this promotion yet) – this promotion runs a week later from May 22-July 22
While I am not 100% sure, I am really hoping that these are individual promotions where you can take advantage of all three. In that case, one could potentially spend less than $250 (that will probably be the average cost of all three hotels combined) and get 138,000 bonus points. In addition to the bonus points you’ll also receive the regular points earned per dollar (20 points per dollar spent) plus between 1,000-3,000 bonus points for booking your reservation online (1,000 points for non-status members, 2,000 points if you are Silver or Gold, and 3,000 points for Concierge status). This could net you around 150k points! Radisson is also really good about status matches.
Free nights range between 9,000 and 50,000 points per night, so these points can go a very long way! I’ll probably be looking to utilize these points at a property in Europe that would go for at least $300+ night, so this will be a great value for me. I am personally not a huge fan of Radisson hotels in the US, but the Radisson Blu properties internationally are supposed to be great. Also, the new Radisson Blu hotel in downtown Chicago also looks spectacular!

Remember, this promotion runs through 11:59pm CST May 11. Book here using promotion code LMD25OFF.

  1. […] Club Carlson’s three day 25% off promotion ends today. This is a great offer to book a stay through May 31st if you are taking advantage of the three Club Carlson “Big Night Getaway” promotion. Book here with promotion code LMD25OFF. A $60ish night stay will net you about 55,000 bonus points which is enough for a free night in Europe! Note that reservations booked prior to the launch of the promotion will still count. Blog Post […]

  1. I did not think pre-paid stays made before the promotion goes live on May 15th counted for the promotion/extra bonus points.

    • @Bob – These are not pre-paid stays, just regular reservations. While it hasn’t been stated whether or not stays made prior to registration will count, my gut feeling is that they will. That is the norm will hotel promotions as they really only care when you check in/check out.

  2. @dealswelike: Thank you for the clarification on the pre-paid versus regular reservations. However, the T&C that were briefly visible when this was first announced seem to iindicate “Maximum of one Bonus Gold Point award will be credited to a member with a Qualifying Stay under the Promotion regardless of the number of Qualifying Stays completed by the member during the Promotion Period. Allow 6-8 weeks for the Bonus Gold Points to post to the member’s account. The Promotion and Gold Points are subject to all Club Carlson Program Terms and Conditions. Rates for each night of a Qualifying Stay may vary. Promotion is not valid on existing reservations and is subject to availability…”

    • @Bob – Once the promotion is live, we’ll be able to get an accurate answer. Even if the T&C state that I am not sold that will be the case, but you never know. At that point we can ask a representative on twitter or facebook. The good thing about the 3 day sale is that it is not a pre-paid rate, so can still cancel. Just make sure to look at the cancellation policy for the specific hotel. I’d advise against booking a night the first day of the promo in case it takes a day or so to get all the questions resolved.

    • @ORD-TGU: Club Carlson is really easy to status match, however, they will not match to their top Concierge status. While there is no cut and dry list of what status you’ll get based on another chains status, you should be able to get Gold if you are: Hilton (Gold or Diamond), Hyatt (Diamond), Marriott (Gold or Platinum), Priority Club (Platinum), Starwood (Platinum).

You can send an email to or call 1 (888) 288-8889 to request the status. Club Carlson, in my experience, will require you to send in proof of your status with another hotel.

  3. @ORD-TGU, they will do a status match for you. As my wife is SPG Gold and I am HHonors Gold and Accor Platinum as well, I expect you will get Carlson Silver, as that’s what they matched us to. I have heard elsewhere of others getting a better deal on their match for the same status, though.

  4. For some reason I was under the impression that reservations made prior to signing up for the promotion would not count toward the promotion. Am I incorrect?

    • @Scott – as of right now there is no definite answer to that. We will find out definitely on May 15th or whenever they decide to respond to my Tweet! If you book under this current sale though, you can cancel if we find out it will not count.

  5. Regarding the 50,000 bonus points promotion. I actually have a plan for one stay in their property with my parents in one room. If I signup my parents for the promotion as well, will all three of us getting 50,000 bonus each on our accounts for a total 150,000 pts?

    • @Ryan – It is one bonus per account and only one account can be tied to the room. Now, if you want to get another room and link it to their account then you can get another bonus for that room. Let me know if that helps.

  6. btw, FYI
Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Columbus-North, OH
    is also a good one.
    I did a search for May 30th to 31st and it’s $68.00, or $54.40 for prepaid.

  7. Fhmmm, for some reason i am not able to find any. all hotels show rate not offered. Even when i choose some of your examples above.
