A few days ago Hilton announced “The Great Getaway” promotion where you can save up to 40% off participating hotels when you book by July 23rd for travel May 17th through September 30th. This sale is good at many participating hotels and resorts throughout all of the Hilton chain hotels (which includes Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, DoubleTree, Embassy Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Hamton Inn, Homewood Suites, and Home 2 Suites). Rates are subject to availability and are non-refundable where pre-payment is required at the time of booking. Additionally, most of these discounted rates must be booked at least 7 days prior to arrival (a few properties only require 3 days though).
The discount amount depends on each individual property and the region it resides:
- Europe: Discount is between 15%-40% off best available rate (note that many hotels in the UK include black out dates for this offer during the Olympics)
- Middle East/Africa: Discount is 25% off best available rate
- Asia Pacific: Discount ranges between 25%-33% off best available rate
- Americas: Discount ranges between 15%-20% off best available rate
I took a quick look at a few hotel rates, specifically the Hilton Barbados as I was eyeing that hotel prior to finding my great rate at the Crane Resort for my upcoming vacation. With this sale, the rate is now showing at $167/night where the previous best available rate was showing $209/night for awhile. I’ve been emailing with a blog reader that I met at the Frequent Traveler Conference a few weeks ago and this promotion saved her about $200 at a hotel she was going to stay at anyways! Even if you have a reservation already booked, check to see if there is a lower rate now available. This savings along with Hilton’s current promotion giving you double points on all paid stays could really make for a great vacation! And remember, as I mentioned a few weeks ago, Hilton is giving away Gold status with 4 paid stays within a 90 day period – make sure to register if you will be able to meet these terms.
