More Free Uber Credits

As I pointed out in my quick deals recap post this morning, through next Wednesday (September 12th), you can get a free taxi ride using the Uber app in New York City. This is for a ride up to $25 including tip, anything after that your credit card on file will be charged the remaining amount.

Now, on top of the $10 credit you receive by being referred by someone, Just Another Points Blogger points out that you can get an additional $15 in free credits by using the promotion code “DRESSFORSUCCESS” when signing up. This promotional code is only good for new users. These two promotions are valid for any city usage.

Additionally, if you happen to be based on Toronto or there for work/fun, there is a promotion code “GLITZANDGLAMOUR” that you can apply to use TODAY (Thursday September 6th) only. I don’t know Toronto well, but it is good for going to/from Arcadian Court.

From my apartment I’ve tried to see if taxi’s are available and I haven’t had much luck. I am still skeptical that this will work in NYC, but I do hope so!

For those who have no idea what an Uber is, here you go: It is an “on-demand car service that allows everyone to have a private driver experience through iPhone, SMS, and web based requests.” It is less expensive than a car service, but slightly more expensive than a yellow cab. Your credit card is stored in your account so there is no exchange of money at the end of the ride. A 20% gratuity is automatically added as well.

  1. uber is great. Its a little more expensive but I like that you don’t have to carry cash and the tip is automatic. Here’s my referral link:

  2. Interesting idea but I don’t like how the tip is automatically 20%. It would be nice if you could adjust the tip at the end of the ride based on how the driver was. Not all drivers are worthy of an automatic 20%!
In yellow cabs in NYC when you charge it asks what tip you want to leave and has various percentage options.,,

  3. DRESSFORSUCCESS didn’t work for me.. It said new users only. Any other info on how to make that work? I entered the code immediately after creating my account. I already had a code YELPSF to sign up with that gave me $20 credit, so you might try that.

I’d also appreciate it if anyone wants to use my promo code.
