Another blog post from Mr. Deals…

Alright American Airlines, what the f’ is going on? Here I am all excited that I’m about to embark on my first flight toward platinum status and you guys are out there canceling a zillion flights and duck-taping planes back together. Oh lets not forget about seats sliding around. What the heck is that all about?

I mean I can deal with the lack of water for coffee and 1 broken bathroom out of the 4 on the plane, as long as you guys get me to my destination. For the past 2 weeks I’ve read nothing but bad experiences. Now my source is primarily Facebook but I’m sure some of you readers have some stuff to share. Just this past week I read a snippet of one guy who was about to head to the Mediterranean but his AA flight had to turn back because panel fell off the ceiling. Yeah, let’s just tape that thing back up and keep going…

AA, let’s make a deal, I can handle a bump on my next flight to Austin, even a short delay, but let’s try to prevent the overhead compartment from falling on my head. That sound good??

Here’s the good news: AA is handing out compensation like crazy. Tell your tale to them, and you will definitely get something for your trouble. It’s not a good as a trouble-free experience, but it helps.

I also have tied travel plans w/ AA coming up. I also have 120k+ miles sitting in my account.

If push comes to shove, I’d like to see the upper mgmt (anything that starts w/ C, like CEO, COO, CFO, SR, whatever, etc.) to be canned. And w/o a parachute.

After all, if they can’t even get along w/ their employees, how can they take care of their customers????

I am headed to ORD on AA this week…hopefully things go smoothly! (knock on wood)

I had a GRU – MIA – LHR travel canceled last Friday. They offered me the GRU – LHR flight from TAM, but since I wanted to go through MIA, they could only accomodate me on Sunday, which for me was not acceptable, so I canceled the trip altogether.

Since I made the reservation via a travel agent, my question is if along the reimbursement from them I could ask AA for some kind of compensation in miles or something.

I was not informed of the cancelation and if it wasn’t for KAYAK, I would have traveled to GRU to catch the flight!

Any suggestions are welcomed.

Regards to all.
