Potential Last Day for Reduced Chase Ink Bold and Plus Minimum Spend

This post may contain affiliate links from our advertising partners. Read my Advertiser Disclosure policy here. Additionally, some of the offers on this page may no longer be available through Deals We Like.

UPDATE: Looks like this was a false alarm and for right now the spending minimum has sayed the same with the $5k minimum spend in three months for the 50k points. As of now I have no idea when this offer will change, if ever.

I’ve been noticing around the blogsphere that some have been posting that today is the last day to get the Chase Ink Bold and Chase Ink Plus card at the reduced minimum spend of $5,000 within three months (prior to that the norm had been $10,000 spend within three months). While no one from Chase has actually told me this, I just did want to share this possibility incase you’ve been eyeing one of these two cards and were considering getting them in the next few days.

As of right now for both cards, you will 50,000 points after you spend $5,000 in your first three months. You can read more about this reduced spend here. Again, this is just speculation that the minimum spend will go up tomorrow to 25,000 points after your first purchase and another 25,000 points after you spend $10,000 in your first three months (instead of the current $5,000 spend).

You can learn more about the Chase Ink Bold and Chase Ink Plus cards here: Introduction to Chase Ink Bold and Introduction to Chase Ink Plus. Also, this post gives you a full introduction to the Chase Ultimate Rewards program (the points you earn with these two credit cards).

Appreciate you sharing what you’ve heard.

Why would you post this scare story if no one from Chase has made an official announcement?

@phil – I’ve read it on other blogs. Not sure where they heard it from, if they heard from hire up sources or if it is just the rumor mill either way I am sharing what I’ve heard.

By no means am I trying to scare anyone as hitting the $10k spend these days can be pretty easy.
