American Airlines Matching BA’s 20,000 Miles per Flight Promo

A few days I posted a great promotion being offered by British Airways – earn 20,000 Avios points per qualifying transatlantic flight. Well the good news is that American is matching this promotion, and if you can instead earn 20,000 AAdvantage miles for the same trip.

For every roundtrip flight from the US to Europe on American Airlines, British Airways, Iberia, or OpenSkies, you’ll earn 20,000 bonus miles. On your 5th roundtrip you’ll earn an additional 100,000 miles! This can give you a total of 200,000 miles. This promotion is only valid for First Class, Business Class, or select Economy class tickets, so mileage runs will probably not be worth it.

  • American Airlines flights: First Class and Business Class fares booked in F, A, J, R, D or I; Economy Class fares booked in Y, B or H
  • British Airways operated flights: First Class or Club World fares booked in F, A, J, R, C, D or I; World Traveller Plus or full fare World Traveller booked in W, E, T, Y, B or H
  • Iberia operated flights: Business Class fares booked in J, C, D, R or I; Economy Class fares booked in Y
  • OpenSkies operated flights: Prem Plus (booking classes W, E, T, Z, A), Eco booked in Y, B, H

This promotion is for all travel through May 31, 2013. You will also need to register prior to traveling (using promotion code EURAA).
