Another blog post from Mr. Deals…

So when Mrs. Deals had a baby, I decided to treat myself to a nice long paternity leave. It was very important that I take my time teaching Baby Deals the ways of the land and how to navigate the household of the deals and miles master, Mrs. Deals. I now feel confident that Baby Deals did not absorb anything I tried to teach her in her first four months, so I will just have to try again next year. That’s ok, I did get a lot of smiles and some giggles in the process.

Well folks, I’m back. I just couldn’t keep myself away any longer. I mean, I got a $50 JetBlue voucher and who else was I was going to share it with (Mrs. Deals wasn’t very impressed). Here’s how that whole thing went down. A few weeks back I was flying out to San Diego for a good buddy’s wedding. I was flying solo as it was a quick trip and probably a bit too much to lug the baby gear (I’ll get into that in another post).

So my morning started off with an earlier wake up than the baby usually demands and an early cab to JFK. It was a huge waste. Apparently JetBlue’s entire system decided to go down and it threw all the flights out of whack. The gate changed on me a good 3 times and my 8:30am flight finally decided to board around 11am. By the time we took off, 3+ hours late and boom $50 JetBlue buckaroos in my account. I actually didn’t have to do anything special here because as you all know, JetBlue has a policy for this sort of stuff.

I should remark here, JetBlue has great seats. I know there was a bunch of chatter about them losing an inch in leg room recently or whatever it was. I’ll tell you what, their seats are just way better than the other airlines. Yeah I know none of you deal junkies with status and all sit in coach or even consider JetBlue, but you know what, it was way more comfortable than all those JFK to LAX jaunts I’ve done on AA.

Till next time…
