How does this bonus compare to the two Amex Hilton card earning bonus? Which card would I use? Amex Plat or the other two cards?

@Matt – With the Amex Hilton Surpass card you get 12 points per dollar spent and with the other card, Amex Hilton, you get 7 points per dollar. I’d much prefer 4x MR points over 7x Hilton points, but comparing 4 MR points to 12 Hilton points really depends on how you value your points. I personally enjoy transferring my MR points to British Airways and getting a great value from that.

I don’t have an MR earning card, but I have Hilton AMEX and I got an offer to earn extra 6 points on top of regular hilton earning. Guess just a different version of offer.

I think there is only a small list of hotels that participating in this bonus MR offer.

I also got the offer to earn 6 extra points on the Amex Hilton Surpass card, but the registration link does not work and I have tried all browsers!

After being Diamond for over a decade I downgraded to the no annual fee HH Amex and use my Arrival card for the few Hilton stays these days. It’s not in my interest to bank HH points even at 12x. 95K/night is crazy. Not having to deal with Hilton’s awful website is a bonus, too.

I wonder if this will work with a meeting event… I wouldn’t mind shifting 2.5K away from my other biz card to my play card if our upcoming holiday party will count.

Thoughts?

Interestingly, I tried to register SPG Amex (have a Doubletree stay in Dec, was gonna use it b/c trying to hit a min. spend there), and it rejected, saying “invitation only.” I retried with Amex Platinum, worked fine.

As I was typing in my SPG number, I did wonder about the irony if it worked, but looks like Amex thought that through too!
