New Hyatt Promotion – Free Nights or Bonus Points

Hyatt’s first promotion for 2014 has been announced! Starting January 15, 2014 (through April 30, 2014), the “Endless Possibilities” promotion will include the option for you to select one of two offers:

  • After every 5 nights, earn a free night – Free nights can be redeemed at any category 1-4 hotel and you can earn up to 4 free nights per account. Free nights must be redeemed by July 31, 2014. There are also no blackout dates with these free nights, so as long as there is a room available it is yours.
  • After every 5 nights, earn bonus points – This is a tiered promotion where you will earn in increments of 5 nights. The minimum points you can earn is 5,000 and the maximum is 50,000. You’ll earn the following:

If you are able to max out this promotion, you can essentially earn 4 free nights (capped at a cat 4 hotel) or 50,000 points. A category 4 night is currently equivalent to 15,000 points, so 4 of them can be compared to 60,000 points. I personally would opt for the 50,000 points to give me some flexibility on redemption options. However, if you are only going to stay 5 nights, for example, I’d select the free night option over the 5,000 points.

Registration will begin January 9, 2014.

What do you all think of this promo? I personally still secretly wish for the days of Faster Free Nights to return!
