Hilton just announced their next promotion and between November 1, 2014 and January 31, 2015 you can earn double points on all stays (starting with your second stay).

Screen Shot 2014-10-29 at 1.00.37 PMYou might remember a few months back, Hilton asked their members to vote on the next promotion and it looks like the double points promo was the winner. While I still miss the free night promotions, double points works well for almost everyone as it is simple and doesn’t require you to swap hotels every night to maximize. Of course I prefer their promotion that is about to end as you can get triple points on weekend stays!

As with any promotion, you will only get the double points for eligible stays. This means that it must be a paid reservations booked directly with Hilton, not those using a third party booking reservation system (i.e.,, Travelocity, etc.).

Like all other Hilton promotions, some hotels have decided to opt out of the promotion and you will NOT receive the double points at those hotels on the list. The entire list of hotels that have opted out is right here, but it seems as though the link is not currently working. I highly suggest checking it out so you are not disappointed later. Typically, there are many hotels that are excluded which is unfortunate. Also, you MUST register for this promotion prior to checking out of your first stay. Hilton will not retroactively give you points for prior stays within the promotional time frame.

  1. “Starting on your second stay”, “please see the list of excluded properties (i.e. most of them)”. How are they even allowed to pretend they still do real promotions nowadays?

  2. I’m in the same boat as @Joe, I have an upcoming stay at a non-participating hotel, and a second stay at a participating hotel. Based on the registration page, the first stay has to be at a participating hotel. How can we be expected to stay loyal to Hilton when the run a promotion with terms like this? Frustrating!
