If you follow me on Twitter you’ll notice that I tweeted another Amex Sync promotion early this morning for Starbucks. With this offer you can get a $5 statement credit with a $10+ purchase at Starbucks onlineAnd similar to the Best Buy offer I wrote about even earlier today, this is available via Twitter so everyone is eligible and you can sync as many Amex cards you have. This is valid for purchases through November 30, 2014.

To enroll in this offer:

  • Sync your American Express credit card to Twitter (you can do that here). If you are not sure which card is currently synced with your account, you can unsync and then re-sync. Tweet #AmexStarbucks
  • or, Sign into your AmericanExpress.com account and go to the “Amex Offers For You” tab. Find the Starbucks offer and make sure to select the “Save Offer” button (although once you do this for one card the option will disappear on other cards, so you’ll need to set up a Twitter account to save the offer to the rest of your Amex cards or read this post to learn how to sync multiple Amex cards with your AmericanExpress.com account)

With most Amex Sync offers you can purchase a gift card and then use that gift card at a future time. With this promotion, however, I am not 100% sure that will work. When you go to purchase a gift card online it takes you to a different Starbucks site so it might not qualify. But, it seems to be working with reloading Starbucks cards. I just did it and received the “Congrats! You just used your Amex Offer” email. If you’ve simply purchased a Starbucks gift card online, please comment below and report your findings. And remember, you can use a Starbucks gift card at Teavana.

  1. You don’t need to do this on Twitter, but you can. “Offer is not valid on the following brands: Seattle’s Best, Tazo Tea, Teavana, Evolution Fresh, and La Boulange.”

    • @Kate – Not 100% sure what you mean. If you create a different twitter account for each credit card you can sync them all. Once it is set up you are good to go moving forward for all Amex Sync promotions.

  2. Tried on 3 Amex cards. The first 2 times reloaded $10 successfully and received Amex email. However when I tried to reload with the 3rd card, Starbucks said they couldn’t process my payment but when I looked at my Amex account, I saw a pending charge and also received the Amex sync email. Even though Amex charged me, My Starbucks gift card balance didn’t increase.

  3. A repeat of Ben’s question… it says not valid on “corporate gift cards”, however, anyone tried personal gift cards with success?
