75% off at Sephora with Swagbucks

Over the weekend I wrote about an opportunity to make money with a a Swagbucks and Visa partnership at Peet’s Coffee. Well this Sephora deal is similar, although instead of making money, it will give you a 75% discount – which is still really good for those that shop at Sephora!

With this offer, if you spend $20 at Sephora with your registered Visa you’ll earn 1,500 “Swag Bucks” which can be redeemed for a $15 gift card. This is limited to one per Swagbucks account, but every member in your household is allowed their own account and can take advantage. You can cash out for gift cards at Walmart, Amazon.com, Kohl’s, Starbucks, and even PayPal! Unfortunately though, you cannot cash out for PayPal unless you’ve earned enough for a $25 gift card in one account. This is valid for purchases through December 28, 2014.

Steps to take advantage of this promotion:

  • Sign into your Swagbucks account. If you are not yet a Swagbucks member, you can register here.
  • Register for the promotion on the Sephora Offer Page
  • You will need to enter your Visa credit card number and email address.
  • Go to a Sephora store and spend at least $20 dollars using the Visa credit card that you just registered. Sephora stores found inside JCPenney are NOT eligible.
  • Your account will then be credited with 1,500 Swag Bucks.

Maximizing the deal: I already tried out this offer myself and it works seamlessly. Immediately after making your purchase you will receive an email from TrialPay and the points will be automatically uploaded to your Swagbucks account. You can then cash out by the time you get home from the store! Purchasing a $20 gift card will work!

If you do not actually want something at Sephora, you can always purchase the gift card and resell it! I checked Giftcardgranny.com and you can get 80% of the value, which would be $16. While this is not a huge money maker, it is still something!

I’ve written about Swagbucks before as an online shopping portal, but I am glad to see they are branching out and offering promotions similar to Amex Offers but with a Visa card. It is definitely a great concept and I hope it branches off to more offers. I’ve always had positive experiences with Swagbucks with points posting quickly and gift card redemptions take a little less than a week to receive.
