Last month I wrote about a great promotion with Hyatt where if you have the Hyatt co-branded credit card you can get a 20% rebate on all your award reservations between February 17 and July 31, 2015.

It is a brilliant promotion on Hyatt’s part and I am sure will increase the number of people signing up for their credit card. In the past, there have been times where the offer was better for those with the Hyatt credit card but never a promotion that was only offered for those with the credit card. It is actually a card I do not yet have (more on that in a separate post), but I am highly thinking about it because of this promotion.

So if you are going to apply for this credit card because of the promotion here are some things to know. You MUST register for promotion by March 31, 2015, which means your account must be updated that you are a Hyatt credit card holder by that date. That means I wouldn’t apply any later than March 24th or so to give yourself a good week for the approval process to go through and your account to be updated.

To find the best Hyatt credit card offer…

The current publicly available offer for this card is two free nights at ANY Hyatt after spending $1,000 on the card within the first three months. Now, there is also another offer out there that gives an additional $50 statement credit (after making your first purchase on the card) on top of the two free night certificates. This is clearly slightly better better. People have been able to see this offer by making a Hyatt reservation. I was able to see if prior to actually clicking the “Book Reservation” button and during the entering credit card information process.

The two free nights earned from the sign up offer expire a year from when they hit your account. The card also gives you a free category 1-4 night certificate at each cardmember anniversary.

Do you know if one actually has to go ahead and complete the reservation after applying for card? Many thanks!
