Although Club Carlson just announced a massive devaluation to their program yesterday, I do give them credit with launching a new promotion on the same day to lessen the blog. For all stays booked during the month of May for travel in June and July, you can earn 5,000 bonus points.

Screen Shot 2015-05-05 at 2.55.25 PMThe terms in the email state that you must be a “Club Carlson Elite member” at the time of the reservation, however, it does not specify what status you must have. Just by signing up for the Club Carlson loyalty program you are automatically enrolled as a “Red” member, so I am not sure if those members will still be eligible for the bonus points or not. However, just by having the Club Carlson credit card, you are automatically upgrade to “Gold” status, so those with the credit card are definitely eligible.

To receive the bonus points it must be a point earning stay. That means award stays, Points + Cash stays, stays booked through a 3rd party, and stays booked with an ineligible rate, will not receive the points. There is no registration page, you simply just need to book by the end of the month.

Remember, you can take advantage of this promotion along with a few other ones simultaneously and earn a boat load of points with just one stay.

  • 1,000 points with Club Carlson app: Book your stay through the Club Carlson app and earn 1,000 bonus points.
  • 30,000 points on next stay: If you have the Club Carlson credit card, you are probably already aware that they are getting rid of the last night free benefit. The are offering those with the credit card an opportunity to earn 30,000 points on their next stay as long as the pay with the Club Carlson credit card. Success stories have also come out that stays booked with points are also earning the bonus! More details on the 30,000 point offer.
  • 10,000 points with the Mega Points rate: There is another offer available where you can earn a 10,000 point bonus at participating hotels by using the rate code MEGAPTS. There are not many participating hotels, and make sure you are still getting the best rate available since you are required to use a certain rate code. More details on the Mega Points rate.
  • Triple points on all stays: Through June 28th, you can earn triple points on all stays! More details on the triple point offer.

For example, I have an upcoming one-night stay that is costing $79 for the night. With all these promotions combined, I will earn 1,580 base points + 553 points for being a Gold member + 799 points by paying with my Club Carlson credit card + 3,160 bonus points for the 3x points promo + 1,000 points for booking through the app + 30,000 points as the Club Carlson credit card goodwill gesture + 5,000 points for completing a stay in June or July. This will earn me a total of 42,092 points. This is a stay I’d be paying for anyways and the Country Inn & Suites actually has the best rate. This one night stay will earn me a ton of points!

I need to book two rooms for two nights and I wanted to know if the second night on both awards would be free.
