Starwood has announced their summer promotion and unfortunately it is nothing to get too exciting about. Starting at some point in June (exact date still TBD) and August 31, 20215, you can earn 1,000 bonus Starpoints on stays of 2 or more nights and it must include a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night.

This means one nights stays will get nada and there is no incentive to the business traveler. Also, 1,000 bonus points is pretty minimal and not nearly as lucrative as previous promotions. With that being said, blogger Pizza in Motion found out that ALL hotels will be participating in the promotion which is great. Many times when Starwood runs a publicly available offer, many popular hotels opt out leaving the guest with no bonus points. So for those that typically travel to those properties (typically in major cities), you are coming out ahead.

There still is no registration link, but for those that like to select their hotel chain based on promotion, here you have it. Once the start date is announced, I’ll be sure to let you all know as well.

If you aren’t a fan of this promotion, or it will not apply to you because of the weekend exclusivity, Starwood was sending out “Member Exclusive Offers” last week so hopefully you were targeted for a better promotion. If you were, you will be able to take advantage of both simultaneously which could be very nice! I personally receive an offer that will give me up to 7,500 points through the end of July. I know others received a stay twice, receive a free night offer as well.
